News from Gloucester Road – Kindle

Husband and wife team, Clare and Guy Collins established their first wood burning stove showroom in 2008 in the heart of Bishopston, on the Gloucester Road. Shortly afterwards they opened their second showroom in Bath and now their largest showroom in South West London.
With fossil fuel prices continuing to rise and our need to reduce carbon emissions and find greener sources of heat for our homes, it is hardly surprising that wood burning stove sales are set to hit an all time high this Winter.
Burning wood is now not just for those in the countryside. With wood burning technology racing ahead, a new generation of high efficiency, clean-burn stoves are taking centre stage. They are approved for use in smoke-control areas, so at long last we can all benefit from the joys of a real log fire.
“With the double challenge of rapidly rising fossil fuel prices and the need to reduce our carbon emissions, a wood burning stove is a wonderful solution and is now possible wherever you live” says Guy Collins, founder of Kindle Stoves “Not only will a wood-burning stove reduce your annual heating bills but burning wood harvested from sustainable sources is carbon-neutral, so it is also a great option for the environment and they look great” adds Guy.
With a wide choice of contemporary as well as traditional styles, a wood burning stove brings a lovely focal point into a home and they now run at over 80% efficiency unlike an open fire in a grate which is only around 10% efficient. With their clean-burn technology, the smoke and ash output of these new stoves is very low, while heat output is impressively high. They are also easy to use and look after and improve the energy rating of a property. It is no wonder wood burning stove sales were up 40% last winter.
Mark Dodson recently had a stove fitted in his Georgian basement flat in Clifton “We can now turn off most of our radiators and have already noticed a significant reduction in our gas bill. The stove can easily be turned up or down and sitting in front of it watching the flames is now an important part of our winter evenings. It is also fantastic to be able to use our fireplace for the first time in decades”
So whether you live in a rural cottage, a Victorian family home or a contemporary apartment, we can all now benefit from carbon-neutral heating and the simple pleasure of a real log fire on those long winter nights.
