The Slow Train to the Sea
Monday 17 to Saturday 22 March 2025
Artigo shop and gallery, on Glos Rd Central, are delighted to present this exhibition of stunning paintings and artworks inspired by the West Country Coast, by Liz Rogers, complemented perfectly with the model seaside railways and home-made steam engines by John Rogers. The artists live locally and are excited for their first exhibition together.
Liz grew up in St Ives, Cornwall, in the 1960s, and was inspired by the internationally acclaimed artists living there at the time. Liz has enjoyed painting since she retired from full-time work for the NHS. She now lives with John, local to Artigo Gallery on Gloucester Road.
John grew up in the 50s, in Clifton, Bristol. He was a keen model-maker with cardboard and scissors then, but got involved in science and computing. When he retired, he wanted to use his hands again and resumed railway modelling and building live steam locomotives.
Diego, Artist & Artigo owner shared, “Here at Artigo, we love to support local creatives by promoting and selling their artwork in our shop. We especially enjoy supporting artists who decide to take the big leap and want to share their work through having an exhibition for the very first time. Both Liz and John’s creative passions come together in this wonderful joint exhibition.”
You are welcome to come in and visit this lovely exhibition at Artigo Gallery, 188 Gloucester Road, BS7 8NU, 10am – 5pm.
