Fun Family Companion Dog Show & Fair

Friends of South Glos Strays was set up in 2010 by local dog warden Celia Bourne, to help support the local stray dogs in the pounds. They are a voluntary group whose members help by walking the dogs (most days) helping with transport to vets, other rescues etc, promoting the dogs by putting up posters, through face book, photographing and videoing the dogs to help them get homes, helping the dogs with basic training, raising money to pay for their neutering, vaccinating, microchipping, treats and any costs to help support them and bring the dogs back to health. They are a small dedicated group trying to make a difference to all South Glos stray dogs’ lives.

All the volunteers help in many different ways with different skills and work hard to promote and educate the public about the stray dog situation and encourage people to take on a stray dog. Many go to wonderful reputable rescues around the country and we love seeing them rehomed happy, loved, cared for and having the lives they so deserve.

To raise much needed funds.. and help dog and animal lovers have a great day out, they are having their 2nd DOGGY DAY AND FUN COMPANION DOG SHOW  on SUNDAY 18TH AUGUST ‘13 at the Avon Riding Centre, Kings Weston Road, Henbury, Bristol BS10 7QT. Open 10am judging starts 11am (Judge Maria Lowe of Viking Vets), admission 50p inc programme.  The dog show and agility are under cover, so no worries about the weather!!

If you can spare some time to go along and lend a hand then there are all sorts of things needed. If you can put a dog show poster up in your workplace, please let Julia know.
