The sixth generation of an illustrious Bangash lineage, Amjad Ali Khan is a renowned maestro in classical Indian music. Asian Arts Agency are proud to offer audiences the opportunity to see this master of the sarod and his family at work in a performance that is sure to hypnotise and enchant audiences.
The “Indian string superstar” is a celebrated musician internationally and at home. In 2001 he was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, one of the highest Indian civilian awards. He has toured across the world, including the US, Canada, Australia, and Europe, and played at events such as WOMAD Festival and UNESCO, as well as a recent performance at the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Norway.
Amaan Ali Khan and Ayaan Ali Khan are virtuosos in their own right taking up the mantle of their musical lineage and praised for their rhythm and skilled improvisation. In these exclusive and unique shows, audiences will have the chance to see a new generation of maestro launched on the world stage. Their talent and growing mastery along with Amjad Ali Khan’s skill in classical Indian music and delicate and expressive performance will make this a night to remember.
