Let the Countdown begin !April 6th, 2016
The West of England MS Therapy Centre recently held its launch party for their first annual Players Sprint Triathlon that takes place on Sunday 2nd October 2016.
Jane Leslie, mother of MP Charlotte Leslie and British champion triathlete, spoke of the importance of exercise for everyone at the launch, ‘if you’re thinking about challenging yourself this year with a physical challenge this is perfect event, to get fit and at the same time support people in our community, it is a win, win situation all round’
Terri McDonald Head of Fundraising said “The Triathlon will be held at The Players Club, one of the region’s most prestigious golf courses and the first of its kind to be held at the championship golf. The course will see participants swim 750m in an open-water lake, cycle 20km through village lanes and finish with a 5km run along the scenic greens of the course itself. The event is to raise funds for the services we provide at the Centre for people living with Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological conditions. We will be working alongside Triathlon England, governing body for the UK’s Triathlon, with their wealth of experience from health and safety regulations, accreditation and having a Triathlon England race official at the event will put our Players Spirit Triathlon on the map in the West Country’.
The event was attended by some of South Gloucestershire’s finest dignitaries to promote and assist The West of England MS Therapy Centre’s good work.
