Harbourside Games Fun in JuneMay 12th, 2014
Several GB Olympic Stars have joined forces to solve a lot of present giving dilemmas for those with active sports lovers in their family. Bristol finds itself in the unique position to be hosting a series of once in a lifetime experiences with GB Medallists to help provide unique gifts and provide the opportunity to also fundraise for their chosen good cause.
The organisers of June’s Harbourside Games have on offer a series of sporting experiences giving individuals the opportunity to gain a glimpse of the world of an Olympic Athlete. This June in Bristol; you can row with a GB Rower, play Beach Volleyball with the GB Women’s Squad, sail with a GB Sailor or take a short journey to Newport to cycle in the tyre tracks of a GB Track Cyclist.
Costs range from £35 to £100 per person, with additional London based events ranging from £225 – £275. Each experience comes with a suggested, but not compulsory Minimum fundraising target.
These individual experiences form part of June’s Harbourside Games which will see local charities and participating athletes benefit from a series of after work sporting and social events delivered by a whole host of GB Olympians and Paralympians visiting the city.
Planned team events include Rowing, Track Cycling, Sailing, Kayaking, Windsurfing, Beach Volleyball and Beach Handball, and in each team event the participating teams will have a GB Athlete alongside them.
The event will be launched on Saturday 7th June with an Opening Ceremony Ball, one of many social and business events attended by the participating GB Athletes. The Charity Group are keen to highlight the various opportunities for the local community to generate support for the project and help maximise the returns for charity.
