GB Stars launch scheme to find local heros

A host of Olympians and Paralympians recently launched a nationwide Instant Hero Auction, enabling people to take part in unique experiences whilst raising money for their chosen good causes.

The Opening Ceremony of the Harbourside Games was attended by Olympians and Paralympians covering several decades. Whilst enjoying their three course dinner, the audience were entertained by tales of Athlete Choir Singing and Tales from the Village by track and field stars, Derek Redmond and Jamie Baulch.

They then took turns to interview Paralympian Gold Medal Winner Naomi Riches on her medal winning experiences and then GB Rowers Winscombe born Olympic Medallist Steve Rowbotham and Tom Solesbury on the fundraising purposes behind the Harbourside Games. The evening then found its first seven heroes, who have pledged to raise money for a GB Rowing Day at Henley on Thames.

During June and July, sports lovers will also have the chance to become ‘Instant Heroes’ by pledging amounts to secure places on exclusive VIP Experiences with Team GB Cycling and Rowing Gold Medallists., with Dani King, Laura Trott, Pete Kennaugh, Tim Baillie, Etienne Stott, Rebecca Romero, Anna Watkins, Sophie Hosking headlining these experiences at iconic sporting venues.

Full details of how you can get involved can be found on the Instant Heroes section of the Games website www.harboursidegames.com
