Yogafurie, Bristol’s leading hot yoga studio, is hosting a free ‘Turn Up the Heat on Your Health’ open day this Saturday to help people find out more about a variety of holistic health and fitness practices.

The ‘drop-in’ style event will take place at the Yogafurie studio in Ashley Down on June 11 between 12.30-4pm and provide people who are interested in finding out how to improve their health and wellbeing with a chance to speak with a range of experts.

Yogafurie http://www.yogafurie.com first opened its Ashley Down-based, purpose-built hot yoga studio in January this year after four years of practicing in locations around the Bishopston an Gloucester Road area.

The studio, which is powered by 100% sustainable energy, is the brainchild of Yogafurie owner Ed Wood, who is a former commercial IT worker-turned-yoga-teacher.

Ed said: “We have had an overwhelming level of support from the community since we opened. It has meant a lot to us that so many of our members have not just remained committed but actually are now doing more hot yoga in our new studio.

“We have also been delighted by the fact that we are welcoming new enthusiasts all the time and so we thought it would be nice to give back to the community by bringing together like-minded practitioners for a celebratory day of wellbeing.

“People can pop in for a cup of tea or hang out all afternoon, we will be here to help as many people as possible who are on the journey to better and fuller health.”

From a practitioner perspective, the day includes:

  • Hot yoga and hot yoga practice
  • Body work
  • Nutrition
  • Mindfulness

Other reasons for attending are:

  • Kirtan singing – a taster session will be held at 1pm and 3pm
  • Free tea, coffee and snacks
  • 20% off selected Yogabum mat towels
  • Hot yoga clothing and equipment on sale at discounted prices

Newcomers who attend on the day can buy four hot yoga classes for £12, or a month of unlimited practice for £30, or both.

Existing members get a free water proof hot yoga bag if they bring a friend who decides to sign up, this will be on a first-come-first-served basis while stocks last.
