Volunteers needed by Great Western Air Ambulance Charity

heli in flight Riggers clearVolunteers are the unsung heroes in many charities, helping out on events, fundraising and admin tasks. Great Western Air Ambulance Charity relies on its army of volunteers to ensure that we can attend events and raise money to keep the helicopter flying.

There are many different roles that volunteers can fill, from working in the charity office on admin tasks, to going out and about, collecting at shops and helping at events.

Based in Filton GWAAC raises money to keep the air ambulance flying.

GWAAC is one of the few air ambulances who work to the gold standard Critical Care Model, which means rushing a critical care paramedic and critical care doctor to the scene.

Essentially we are a flying Accident and Emergency Department, bringing the hospital to the patients.

We receive no funding from the Government or the National Lottery, which means we rely entirely on the generosity of the people we serve to continue operating.
