Join Concern Universal on Saturday 29th November for a magical, festive concert guaranteed to get you in the festive spirit!
The Concern Universal ‘Big Sing’ event is coming to Bristol for one night only and invites you, your family and your friends to experience the exhilaration of a mass choir event that will lift the roof off the beautiful St Mary Redcliffe Church in Bristol. Doors open at 6:30pm and the concert starts at 7pm. Raise your voice and help those in need.
Throughout the night you will enjoy a feast of entertainment from local choirs and singers, so come along and soak up the festivity over a hot drink and a warm mince pie. Acts include The Great Sea Choir, barbershop singers ‘Tubbs’, Winscombe Community Choir and special performances from the Fairfield School and Sir William Romney’s School choir ‘Romnapella’.
It will be a fantastic Christmas event for all ages with those attending getting the chance to join in on a few carols themselves.
The event is all in aid of Concern Universal which is an international development organisation tackling poverty from the grassroots. The charity creates opportunities for people around the world to improve their lives and shape their own futures. By building skills and connecting people at all levels of society, Concern Universal helps communities deliver practical solutions with long term impact.
The charity is hoping to raise enough moneyto provide solar powered electricity to a rural school. Children walk a long way to get to school, and if there are good facilities they can stay overnight – saving the miles they walk each day just to learn. Older students also then have the option the come and study after it gets dark. Amber Andrews, fundraising manager says “We’re excited to share the wonderful sounds of these choirs and at St Mary Redcliffe church, a stunning venue in Bristol. It’s a great way to kick start your Xmas celebrations and raise money for charity too.
Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children. Under 3s are free.
