Park Arts11 – Be a part out it!

On Thursday 24th March the first meeting to discuss the summer event Park Arts11 took place. The evening was well attended by enthusiastic people full of ideas for what already promises to be a great, creative, family day. There are lots of opportunities for people to get involved as a visual artist, musical performer, stall holder or an extremely welcome helper on the day. Please read the press release below supplied by Friend of St. Andrews Park and event co-ordinator Paul Bullivant.

Following the success of ParkArts09 two years ago, The Friends of St. Andrews Park (FoSAP) are now planning their second one day community art festival – ParkArts11 – to be held in St. Andrews Park on Sunday 10th July 2011 from 12.00 noon to 6.00 pm.

ParkArts11 will be a free-entry arts festival celebrating the diversity and creativity of our local community featuring the work of local visual artists, musicians, performers and poets. There will also be a range of stalls offering arts and craft products for sale as well as opportunities for children to make things and to try out and experiment with new techniques and materials. Delicious refreshments will be provided by the much loved ‘Tea Garden’ and the popular St Bartholomews church marquee.

The event will be a great opportunity for local artists in all media to show their ideas and their work and, to celebrate the event, FoSAP are commissioning three artists to create installations to be exhibited in the park during July.

If you are an artist or performer wanting to show your work, if you want to rent a space for a stall, if you want to volunteer to help with organisation or if you want to be considered for the installation commission then please contact Paul Bullivant of FoSAP as soon as possible e-mail: [email protected]

Watch this space for further updates on the event!
