Gurt Lush Choir reaches 300 members!
June 17th, 2012Bristol’s Gurt Lush Choir is proud to announce that it has reached a new milestone – 300 members! They think this makes them Britain’s biggest community choir (any challengers get in touch!) no mean feat for a choir which only started less than three years ago. And with ages ranging from 14 to well into the 70s, the choirs members are as eclectic and varied as its repertoire!
The choir rehearses in four locations around Bristol during term time, and all members come together to sing at concerts. The next concert will see the Lush perform alongside Bristols longest running community choir, the Gasworks Choir. This collaboration at the Colston Hall on Saturday 7th July will see over 400 of Bristols singers take to the stage to perform together with new repertoire from both choirs, and a few joint numbers to boot! Tickets are available from the Colston Hall box office and all profits go to St Peters Hospice.
Despite reaching such huge numbers, the Gurt Lush Choir does still have room for new members for more information visit www.gurtlushchoir.com.
