Gloucester Road Traders Plan International Flag Display

The Gloucester Road Traders Association have asked me to spread the word that they are planning a display of international flags along Gloucester Road in Bishopston and Horfield (below Filton Avenue) to take place through June and July 2012 to coincide with the Jubilee, the European Championships and the Olympics.

They will be inviting shops, businesses and residents to fly the flags of as many nations as possible from their premises fronting the Gloucester Road Mile from the junction with Zetland Road to the junction with Filton Avenue.  It should be an amazing sight!

People can put up their own, or they can arrange to supply and fit brackets, poles and flags to anyone along the road who wants this done for them, virtually at cost price. Once fitted the brackets can be used for flying flags again and again on other festive occasions and also for Christmas trees and lights in December each year.

If you are interested and would further details please contact the Hon Sec of GRTA, Peter Browne, by email at [email protected] or by post to GRTA, c/o 48 Gloucester Road, Bishopston, Bristol  BS7 8BH
