Bristol Young Hero Awards!January 22nd, 2015
10 DAYS LEFT TO NOMINATE – Closing date 1 February 2015.
There are now only 10 days left to nominate a Young Hero for an award at the second Bristol Young Heroes Awards, supported by YMCA Bristol and BCfm radio. It will take place on Saturday 28th March 2015 at The Bristol Hotel, Prince Street. The awards recognise the valuable contribution that Bristol’s young people (aged 11-19) make to the city – particularly those who have overcome difficult circumstances, made a difference in the lives of others or achieved great things. The celebratory evening will begin with a formal dinner, followed by award presentations and conclude with live entertainment for an evening to remember.
The organisers of this inaugural Bristol event have been delighted at the support they have already received, as two big names pledge their support. GKN Aerospace and Wales & West Utilities have secured positions as lead sponsors of the awards for a second year.
Local community groups, schools, charities and churches are invited to nominate young people for an award in the relevant category for a panel to choose three nominees for each award, one of whom will be the winner. Nominations are now open www.bristolyoungheroesawards.co.uk closing date 1st February 2015
Categories for 2015 are as follows:
- Education Hero
- Sporting Hero
- Arts & Culture Hero
- Super Hero
- Action Hero
- Caring Hero
Three nominees from each category will attend the event as guests of honour with the winning young heroes announced on the night being presented with a trophy to commemorate their achievement. There is also a seventh award for the Over all Young Hero which will be from one of the nominees from the other six catagories.
Bristol Young Heroes are also inviting local businesses to sponsor the event by advertising in the event brochure or sponsoring an Award. This is a fantastic opportunity to show your company’s commitment to the inspirational young people of Bristol and to gain some valuable positive media coverage for your organisation.
Tickets for the awards ceremony will be on sale to the general public via the Bristol Young Heroes website and are expected to be available for purchase from mid February 2015.
