A Fantastic 10th North Bristol Art's Trail

A favourite weekend in many people’s calendar is the North Bristol Art’s Trail that takes place over the last weekend in November. The trail that was started 10 years ago by just a few local artists has grown to a massive 110 artists.

Walking the roads of Bishopston and St Andrews yesterday and witnessing a vast proportion of our community, map in hands, having a wonderful time exploring the diverse range of artwork on shown made me once again feel very lucky to live where I do.

Not only was there a feast for the eyes in all the many venues but a fantastic line up of music at St Bart’s Church along with delicious refreshments both there and at the Horfield Baptist Church.

I spent a happy hour helping on the kids stand at the Horfield Baptist Church that once again this year was home not only to a group of North Bristol artists but the TAKE pART impressive displays from local schools (the giant owls were my favourite) and the Lighting UP group who are a group of North Bristol Artists who have linked with the Alzheimer’s Society to provide art sessions for people who have dementia and their carers.

Congratulations to all those involved it was a most enjoyable and inspiring way to spend a weekend.

Some of the pictures I took on my travels are posted on my Flickr account. A full report of the trail will be published in the January 2012 issue of Bishopston Matters.
