Tickets Available Now for Mayor's Next Public Question Time
March 4th, 2014People with a burning question for Bristol’s Mayor or simply an active interest in city life are being encouraged to come along to a public Question Time this March. As part of his regular programme of public engagement, Bristol’s elected mayor George Ferguson will host his next Question Time on Tuesday 25 March at City Hall.
Free tickets are available now on a first come, first served basis. The Question Time will run from 7.30pm to 8.30pm, with doors opening at 7.00pm. The event is open to everyone but requires booking in advance as space is limited.
The Mayor will respond to questions from the audience on a range of issues. It’s completely live with no need to submit questions in advance. The event is aimed at residents rather than political or pressure groups, providing a chance for individual people to make their voice heard by Bristol’s principal decision maker. An independent facilitator will chair the event to make sure that it keeps to time and addresses as many questions as possible. In this spirit people are asked to keep their questions succinct.
Booking is now open online at www.bristol.gov.uk/questiontime. Anyone without internet access can book on 0117 922 2848. Those who aren’t able to come will be able to watch a webcast of the event at www.bristol.gov.uk/webcast.
Mayor of Bristol George Ferguson said: “This open Question Time is one of a number of ways in which I like to reach out to Bristol people, hear their views and give them as direct an answer as I am able.
“These events keep me on my toes and are always a lively experience, demonstrating citizens’ different views and priorities along with their passion for the city. I’m expecting questions on a wide range of topics, much as those who listen to my radio phone-ins, watch my webcasts, come to community meetings or follow me on Twitter have come to expect.
“If you’ve got something to ask, make sure you book your place now.”
The Mayor’s Question Time events are part of the Mayor’s wider programme of community engagement which sees him getting involved with local people face to face, on the radio and online. To find out more visit www.bristol.gov.uk/mayorengage.
