The race is on. Can you help?
March 21st, 2011Local St Andrews resident Claire Bush has been offered a place in the London Marathon. When I met with her recently she explained she has run three half marathons in the past three years so is extremely confident she can now tackle the full 26.2 miles! Her commitment to the training has meant she has given up smoking. She has received support from her family with her daughter Maia cycling over 10 miles whilst Claire ran and super fit family dog Elsie frequently keeps her owner company as she runs the streets of Bristol. Claire is running for the charity ‘United Response’, a UK organisation that supports people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and physical disabilities to live in the community, across England and in Wales.
In order to secure her place at the London marathon she has to raise £1,500 for her charity. Claire has done brilliantly with the money she has raised so far but would like to appeal to the local people of Bishopston and St Andrews to support her by donating any amount they can. She would like to thank you dear neighbours in advance and assure you that any donation will be most gratefully received. If you go to the web page uk.virginmoneygiving.com/clairebush and click on the link it will take you through to her fundraising page. Have your credit or debit card ready and follow the simple instructions. We wish Claire the very best of luck for the big race on April 17th 2011.
