Wow, what a fantastic turnout from local people to the 2013 MS Community Cake Break. The event took place at the Horfield Baptist Church, the perfect venue for eating, drinking and having fun! A big thank you to the church and their volunteers for allowing us to use it for the day.
Despite the hot weather we enjoyed an excellent turn out, the beautiful singing from the Ashley Down Community Choir was a big draw early on, followed by the impressive Learner Brass Band. Myself and family are truly delighted with the love and support shown to us once again this year at the community Cake Break and I am delighted to report we raised £620 for the Bristol MS Society. Andy Jarrett, Area Fundraiser for the MS Society was quite overwhelmed when he visited on the day. He was hugely impressed to witness the community coming together in such a positive way to support the charity. It is a disease that I know touches many families in some way. We will continue to work hard to try and beat MS, thank you so much to you all for helping us to achieve this.
More information and pictures will feature in the next issue of Bishopston Matters.
