Successful charity music gig in St Andrews!

A charity music gig with Bristol Glam Rock Band FAB 208 was held on Saturday 22nd November at Bristol St Andrews Bowling Club in Bishopston which helped raise 300 pounds.
The money raised will go to Ronald McDonald House in Bristol. The charity provides free “home from home” accommodation to families of critically-ill children receiving care at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and St Michael’s Hospital.
It was attended by around 70 people and organised by Glen Wintle and Councillor Brian Mead of Filton both expressed thanks to John Hughes, his band members and Bristol St Andrews for accepting the event to take part at the bowls club.
The Lord Mayor of Bristol Alastair Watson and Lady Mayoress, Mrs Sarah Watson opened the event along side Hanna Sturman, Fundraising and Events Coordinator of Ronald McDonald House.
The Lady Mayoress, Mrs Sarah Watson was then presented with a bouquet of flowers by Bristol St Andrews Bowling Club Secretary, Spencer Wintle.
Peter Martin, also known as Pirate Pete attended and donated a percentage of his book sale’s to the charity.
A cake sale, raffle and auction took place and the following organisation’s donated prizes for the auction: FAB 208, Somerset County Cricket Club, Lancashire County Cricket Club, Dings Crusaders Rugby, Bath City FC, Newport County FC and Watershed Cinema.
A special thanks goes to Bristol Ticket Shop for selling the tickets prior to the event, helping raising much needed funds. Organisers would also like to thank Bishopston Matters, Bristol Rovers FC and Bristol Post for promoting the event.
