Playing Out Workshop
January 21st, 2013
Are you interested in your street becoming a traffic-free ‘play street’ for a couple of hours a week or month? If so, go along to an informal workshop run by ‘Playing Out’ at Westbury Park Primary School, Bayswater Avenue, 1.30-3.15pm, Monday 4th February.
For more information on this or for help with getting something started on your street, contact Ellie on 0117 9537167 or email: hello@playingout.net.
The ‘Playing Out’ project has received some funding from the Redland, Cotham and Bishopston Neighbourhood Partnership to provide support to residents in the area wanting to organise after-school street play sessions, including providing road closure ‘kits’. A couple of streets in Bishopston have already started doing this regularly, giving children and adults a chance to use their street for play and socialising.
‘Playing Out’ is looking for further venues to run free workshops for residents this year – if you think your school or community centre might be willing to host a workshop or you would be interested in attending one, please contact hello@playingout.net or phone 0117 9537167. If you venture over to South Bristol you can also pop into the new Playing Out ‘shop’ to find out more @ 148 North St, Bedminster, BS3 1HA.
