London to Paris Charity Bike RideNovember 27th, 2014
I am working for NTT DATA UK as an Analyst Programmer and contracted to EE , living in Bristol since 2011. Bristol is such a great city with full of life and history.
On 20th May 2015, I will be cycling on the iconic route – London to Paris to raise money for UNICEF. The cycle ride will start in South London, passing through picturesque Kent countryside continuing through the small villages and medieval market towns of Northern France, the famous battlefields of the Somme and Agincourt covering a distance of approx. 500 kms.
I am sure and confident that I will be able to cycle and reach Paris in one shape and the 80 mile cycle ride which I did last year from Bath to Bournemouth for British Heart Foundation will help me to prepare myself mentally.
For over 60 years UNICEF has been the world’s leader for children, working on the ground in more than 150 countries and territories to help children survive and thrive, from early childhood through adolescence.
The task is challenging and it requires at-least 18 weeks of training to prepare for the event. I am all geared up and ready to start my training. I have created a Facebook page to provide daily updates (https://www.facebook.com/BL2P15) and fund raising page to collect donations (http://www.doitforcharity.com/balaji).
I am also planning to conduct fun fundraising events(Book Sale/Cake Sale etc.) to raise money I hope I will raise the minimum sponsorship of £1470 before May 2015. Watershed, At-Bristol and Bristol Blue Glass company have already sponsored some goodies for the raffle.
