Join in the fun and celebrate National Libraries Day!February 8th, 2013
All 28 libraries in the city will be holding a simultaneous story time to celebrate the big day and children will be able to pop along to their local library to hear ‘Something Beginning with Blue’, by Nick Sharratt and Sally Symes at 11am, in libraries throughout Bristol.
The event will be a first for the library service and children are invited to join in the fun at their branch library.
Other activities include top local writers Tania Hirschmann and Joff Winterheart who will be taking part in a one-off collaboration to bring fiction to life through words and pictures in an event at Central Library. Tania and Joss will also be discussing their work and offering writing tips to aspiring authors from 11am at the library.
To celebrate the day, our local libraries – Cheltenham Road and Horfield will be offering half price rental on DVDs, three free reservations, and if you borrow three or more items you will be entered into a prize draw to win an E-reader!
