John James Tools of the Trade Award

IMG_0956Redland High School is delighted to announce that Rachel Brierley-Ambrose, a Sixth Form student, has been awarded the Tools of the Trade Award by the John James Foundation.

The award, which is worth 1500 pounds, will support Rachel in her studies by enabling her to take part in two separate research trips during the summer holidays. The first of these is a course on Latin and Ancient Greek to be held at Durham University, followed by a five day study trip to Rome to visit a number of ancient sites including the Colosseum and Pompeii.

Rachel is currently studying History, Latin and Geography at A level, having achieved 11 A star grades at GCSE at Redland High School, including History, Latin Language and Latin Literature.

Caroline Bateson, Headmistress at Redland High School, says, “I am delighted that the John James Foundation is supporting Rachel this year, and the School is extremely grateful for the Foundation’s support over the years. Rachel has had a great start to her A level studies at Redland High School and these study trips will not only help in her A levels, but will stand her in good stead for continuing her studies at university.”
