Have yourself a handcrafted Christmas at Bishop Road Primary School

Bishopston Christmas Market, December 1st 2011, 7pm to 10pm & Bishop Road Christmas Fair, December 10th 2011, 2pm to 4.30pm.

There are two important Christmas events you should enshrine in the diary each year: the Bishopston Christmas Market (1 December 2011) and the Bishop Road Christmas Fair (10 December 2011). Not only do both offer the opportunity to shop with homemade mulled wine and local mince pies but they raise important funds for the school.

The Bishopston Christmas Market is the perfect place to start your Christmas shopping without the worry of entertaining the kids. The school is transformed into a sparkling winter wonderland with gifts and crafts for sale from local shops and artisans including Vanilla Gifts, Mild West Heroes, Buzz and Matilda toys, Green Garlands, Liz Issacs pottery and Elsie Belle Jewellery. A small entrance fee applies on the door. Come along with friends and get into the festive spirit!

The Bishop Road Christmas Fair is a family event held on the last Saturday before schools break up for the festive holidays. Come along on Saturday 10 December from 2pm when the school will host games, craft stalls, festive performances from young and old, raffle prizes, puddings, handmade Christmas gifts, Christmas tree sales and of course, the all important visit from Father Christmas!

New for this year will be potted poinsettias and cyclamen, a ‘Homemade Christmas’ stall as well as pieminister pies – perfect Christmas presents for family, friends or teachers! Hot food from pieminister and Sausage Fest will be available as well as a licensed bar, hot and cold refreshments and cakes.

And to kick-start the festive season the Bishop Road Community Cinema will be showing the family film Nativity! on Friday 25 November. This regular event is a great way to watch a film without venturing far from home. Entrance is free and all are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Doors at 6pm with film at 6.30pm and a licensed bar until 9.30pm.

Bishopston Matters will be running a Home-made Craft and Food stall at the Christmas Market, with all proceeds going to the Bristol MS Society.  I do hope many of you can come along and support the festive evening.
