Double Ofsted Outstanding For Family-run Bristol NurseriesAugust 7th, 2017
Ofsted, the Office for Standards in Education, said: “Overall the quality of the provision is outstanding……. Staff are highly sensitive to children’s emotional well-being and babies get the reassurance they need.”
Ofsted inspect childcare providers with very little notice and measure against four key judgements: Effectiveness of the leadership and management, the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, Personal development, behaviour and welfare, and the outcomes for children in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The Outstanding judgement is given only when there is exceptional provision that greatly exceeds requirements. The standard of care must be exceptional and the organisation highly effective at making sure that children make significant progress and being provided with opportunities to reach their full potential.
Archfield House Nursery is family run and has been providing excellent care for Bristol families since 1986. They have an innovative and unique approach to their practice and children thrive when accessing a wide range of activities including Forest School, mindfulness and yoga, woodwork, photography and Football skills!
They also operate a very successful and hugely popular Beach School. The children access Severn Beach by train and follow their own line of direction in their learning facilitated by two fully qualified Beach School practitioners.
The Ofsted report further noted: “The quality of teaching is consistently outstanding and the children receive excellent support in their learning.”
Rebecca Clevett, Nursery Director said, “We are all so thrilled that Archfield House Nursery was awarded Outstanding and given the credit that it deserves. The staff team work hard to ensure that every child has their individual needs catered for and encouraged to reach their full potential in all that they do.”
Archfield House Nursery also operate Woodland House Nursery which is a short walk away close to the University of Bristol. They also achieved Outstanding in April which was awarded by a different inspector.
