Bursting at the seams!

Kelvin Players Theatre Company, Bishopston’s own drama company is rapidly running out of room.

The non-professional company, which produces at least five quality dramatic productions each year at its own studio theatre on Gloucester Road, is also developing as a resource for hiring of theatrical staging, costumes, lighting, furniture and props. Inevitably however the fact that it is able to hire also means that it has an growing stock of furniture, lights etc, all of which need to be securely stored.

Jonny Wilkinson, the Company Stage Manager for Kelvin Players said “We’re bursting at the seams. We keep getting offers of donations of costumes, furniture and props and we’ve had to start turning stuff away because we simply have nowhere else to keep it. What we need is either an off-site garage or warehouse/industrial unit close to the studio when we can store our larger items and have easy access for our own demanding season of plays and for hiring out to other local companies.”

Kelvin players are based on Pigsty Hill and ask that anyone in the area who may have a large empty garage or unit available should contact Jonny Wilkinson on 07905 461013 or via email on kelvinplayers_committee@hotmail.co.uk

Kelvin Players’ forthcoming  productions include The Shakespeare Revue (December), Natural Causes (February 2012) and A Man for All Seasons (April 2012) See website for details www.kelvinplayers.co.uk.
