A Fantastic 2012 Cake Break

I am pleased to report the 2012 Cake Break in aid of the Bristol MS Society was a great success. The community event was well attended and enjoyed by all. Thanks to the Brownies that baked and sold some fabulous cakes and the Learner Brass Band who played out some up lifting tunes. It was lovely to have the addition of Amelie’s Larder providing yummy, gluten free cakes and information for Coeliac sufferers.

The Horfield Baptist Church halls and Cafe made for the perfect venue and thank you to the ladies and gentlemen that donated their time and kept everybody in tea, coffee and cake! It was lovely to see the many children running around playing with balloons, the toys kindly lent by ‘Chatterbox’ play group and taking part in the craft activities.

Thank you to everybody else – family, friends, colleagues, local residents and traders that came along to show their support on the day or generously offered raffle prizes or cakes that helped a raise a fantastic £455.05!  We sold out of raffle tickets – testament to the quality of prizes (and Wendy’s efficiency with sales) and cakes!  I am already planning and looking to improve for the 2013 event.

For those of you who couldn’t make it on the day but would like to show your support now, I am still collecting. Please e-mail kerry@bishopstonmatters.co.uk or call 07881 924 059 for more information.

I cannot express my thanks enough to all of you kind people that have already supported this charity that is very close to my heart with the donation of time, prizes or money.  This support both on and before the day reminds me once again how lucky I am to live amongst such a strong, generous community.
