A fabulous FOHC Jubilee Picnic

The Friends of Horfield Common ‘Jubilee Summer Picnic’ took place on the bank holiday Monday 4th June from 12-4pm on Horfield Common and the Ardagh Sports Pavilion.

Hundreds of local families took part in the picnic and a lovely afternoon of fun, games and activities.

The Friends were delighted to have received a grant from their local Neighbourhood Partnership that helped to make it a fantastic community event.

A range of activities took place during the afternoon – Pitch and Putt with a delightful Royal theme, taster bowling and tennis sessions, art workshops and the usual favourite cake stalls, bric-a-brack and bouncey castle. It was great to see the North Bristol Art stand supporting the day for the first time. Local musicians helped get everybody in the Jubilee spirit! I was impressed with the Royal inspired costumes.

Well done to the Friends of Horfield Common whose hard work ensured a community day to remember – and thank goodness the sun shone!
